Karkat Vantas | Homestuck | Son of Ares

[It's not every day you get to beat up your immortal parent, and Karkat has some serious father issues when it comes to Ares, so even though it catches him off guard it's definitely a welcome to his usual morning routine. Anyone that comes even remotely close to him will probably feel themselves becoming suddenly angry or hateful as this plays out, and his cursing can be heard across camp in tirades of fury.]

[Wow, Karkat sure is beating the crap out of that giant robot god guy. John was having his own time dodging the random misplaced swings of automaton and camper alike.]

[It's a good thing he was the son of the god of the skies. He wasn't perfect at flying but he could make a quick dodge or escape when he needed to. This time, he doesn't aim to get away. It looks like Karkat could use a hand.]

What did this one do? Step on your romcom collection?

[For the moment, Karkat takes a step back to catch his breath, letting one of his half-siblings take over. He's not exactly the fittest guy for a demigod, and it's obvious by the way he leans over to catch his breath, hands on his knees before he turns his head to look at John, raising an eyebrow in a 'seriously?' look.]

Are you really that dense, Egbert?

[John shrugs. He pulls out his own weapon of choice. A hammer, rather than a sword.]

Well, there isn't much else that I can think of that would piss you off so much. Seriously, dude I can feel it from over here.

[Pause.]

Which one is he?

[tantrumbingo]

[Karkat leans back up, tossing a sickle up and down in the air impatiently, not looking quite as murderous as he had been. At the question, he glances out the corner of his eye at John before turning his attention back to the fight.]

Ares. My dad.

[thewindything]

[John whistles, gripping the handle of the hammer in his hands.]

Wow, he even looks like a smug asshole. I think we should knock that look off his face.

[tantrumbingo]

[For a moment he almost reprimands John for talking like that about one of the gods before he remembers that John's parentage is Roman. Even if he is fighting against a statue of his father, Ares would probably think it was some kind of hilarious popcorn worthy attempt, and that thought starts a tick on Karkat's face. He flicks his wrist, switching the sickle in one of his hands around.]

Need an anger boost?

You got any to spare?

[John wasn't someone who was easily angered (unless it was for a really stupid reason), but he'll take the rush if Karkat was offering.]

[tantrumbingo]

I got plenty. Why do you think I failed all the anger management sessions my mom tried to send me to?

[The remark is more flippant than anything, but it's the truth. Karkat closes his eyes, concentrating on John as his brow draws together, nose scrunching up. He doesn't have full control over the whole making someone angry thing, so it's a bit of a wild card at the worst of times. This is probably the first time he's willingly made someone an outlet.]

I dunno, I figured it had a lot to do with people dissing your romcoms.

[John can feel it the moment it kicks in. It's hard not to when you were feeling everything but angry moments before. It's a rush, and he can feel it as it suddenly burst from within. His body moves on it's own in a wave of forceful, fluid movement. He's upon the automaton in a heartbeat. ]

That's not the only thing I get pissed off about, John.

[Really, he should be a bit weary about giving a sky demigod an anger boost, but it's not like he's never seen thunderstorms before. He raises an arm to his face to shield it from the sun so he can watch John take on the automaton version of his dad. In a way, it kind of makes him happy that he has a friend willing to go so far for him.]

RAUGH!

[John is boosted into the air by a quick blast of wind at his feet. On his way back down he slams his hammer hard upon the automation's head. As it collides, there is a loud clap of thunder over head.]

[He lands with a thud on his feet, breathing in hard.]

[tantrumbingo]

[The automaton is still going but on of the other Ares kids takes John's place as Karkat jogs over to where John landed, a look of slight surprise on his face before he covers it with a smirk.]

Remind me never to give you a full dosage. Don't want you going Hulk on me.

[thewindything]

[The anger high is starting to wear off and he's starting to come back down. His arms feel kind of jittery and he drops his hammer for a second.]

Holy crap. That was nuts.

[tantrumbingo]

[He gives a small shrug, tucking his sickles under his arm to brace his arm against John's back in case he feels like collapsing.]

Imagine feeling that every day with no outlet until you came here.

[thewindything]

I think I would have blown something up.

[No collapsing, but he appreciates the support. He takes another deep breath and picks his hammer back up, propping it on his shoulder.]

[tantrumbingo]

Trust me, you feel like blowing up the whole goddamn world.

[He gives the other boy a slight push to help him get back on his feet before he takes hold of his sickles again, tapping the toe of his sneaker against the ground.]

Or at least taking down a few monsters or something.

[thewindything]

Let's tear this giant robot thing apart. Sounds like a pretty good use of anger to me.

[John offers Karkat a sharp grin.]
