[Apparently she did blend in with the trees, at least to a certain extent. She furrowed her brows, debating whether she wanted to answer. It was better than having someone fire some warning shots in her direction, though, right?]

Yeah.

[Her voice wasn't much above regular speaking, but she was getting up as Annie approached.]

I'm here. You saw the snare?

[Annie gasped, taking a few steps back towards the ocean when someone does speak. She's easily spooked, sorry, Katniss.]

The wire caught the light- sorry, if I wasn't supposed to see it. I, ah, a friend of mine is good with them. He gave me some pointers... Sorry.

[Katniss knows enough about people to not try and get closer to Annie once the girl backs up. She shrugs her shoulders.]

I'm just surprised. Most people walk right over it, and then get pissy when it gets caught on their shoe.

I guess, ah, I have good eye-sight. Or something. [She shrugs, always quick to get rid of any sort of praise being shouldered on her. She never did well with it. Even before everything that happened.]

[Modesty is a good trait to have -- Katniss will assume you've got more talent than you're letting on. She nods.]

Must be it. I didn't think I'd catch much this close to the shore, anyway.

[Other than a few annoyed campers, but she can't say that wasn't part of the point.]

What about fishing? Have you ever fished? [Fishing, well, it ran in her blood, it was safe to say.]

Yes, Katniss, because that was how regular people got fish. Trading.

Annie blinks. "You know Finnick...?" Already, worry tinged her voice. Their relationship was new, and Annie was, well, she was dating Finnick Odair, surf star, Aphrodite kid, and generally hot as hell. What did Annie have going for her? She was tiny, broken, scarred. And this girl in front of her? Was far more beautiful than Annie would ever be.
