[Guess who is floating at around Karkat's height completely unattached to the wall.]

Hey, Karkat!

[The interruption behind him almost makes him jump, the only indication that he did the fact that he slides down the wall a few meters before he manages to grab hold of it again with shaky fingers, hauling himself up and glaring daggers up at the other boy.]

Goddamnit, John, warn a guy before you make them nearly piss their pants!

Ew, gross, dude! You look like you're having some trouble there, pal. Need any help?

I'm not having trouble, cockbite, I don't need any help.

If you say so. Isn't this about the time the wall starts spewing lava?

[As if on cue, the wall bursts.]

[John floats back a little to not get lava on him. He's watching Karkat with interest. The frustrating part is that he's being entirely genuine.]

Wow, watch out!

[tantrumbingo]

Goddamnit.

[With a groan, he clings to the wall to avoid the lava that might hit him as it flies out before he turns his head to look at John.]

A little help, asshole?

[John snickers.]

You want it now? You told me to fuck off, dude.

John, I am this close to perishing in fucking lava. [Lies.] Move your fucking ass!

Fine, geez, you're such a crab. [he rolls his eyes.] Let go of the wall.

[tantrumbingo]

[Considering his Godly parent was Ares he could probably try controlling the lava a little but he'd rather not chance it. Instead, Karkat gives a roll of his eyes and pushes himself away from the wall reluctantly, though he does make a comical scramble to grab hold of it again before he drops away from the surface with a slightly girlish scream.]

[Karkat, Karkat, Karkat. Your girly screams are mostly just fuel for John to poke at you later, but he is not about to let his friend fall to his doom. Not that he would actually die at this height, he was a goddamn demigod, but Karkat would probably act like he were dying if he did.]

[He's like that guy in cartoons that splashes around in water like he's drowning until someone tells him to stand and he realizes he's only knee deep in a creek.]

[John situates on the ground and then opens his arms up to summon the breeze. It catches Karkat like an invisible net and holds him floating about six feet off the ground.]
