THE STRAWBERRY FIELDS

WOW HE'S A TINY
Instead, he just comes around and drops a pile of strawberries he's been carrying in the fold of his shirt into his cousin's lap.]
'Sup?
That is his Babynatural face. C:
He grins up at Gabe anyway, and picks up one of the berries in his lap, looking it over thoughtfully before nibbling the very end.]
What're you doing out here? [He asks between bites.]
HES MY CUTE BABY
He shrugs, popping another strawberry into his mouth and talking around the fruit.]
Dunno. It's my free period. I come and go as I please. What're you doing out here, litle man?

Should you venture out to the fields, you might find a tiny daughter of Apollo lying flat on her back, mindless of the fact that her clothes are filthy, with a bundle of strawberries beside her. Her eyes are closed, but she doesn't sleep. She's just happy to be out here, happy to be alive.]

He's walking amongst some of the plants, breathing in the sweet scent, arms outstretched, when he notices Yun a few feet down. He's never had a particularly loud voice, ordinarily, but he calls out to her as best as he can.]
Hello, Yun!
no subject
Hello, brother Jehan! Isn't it a lovely day? [But every day is lovely, she thinks. It's a blessing to be here, in this beautiful place, with the family she never knew she had. She pops a berry in her mouth, humming happily as she quickly chews and swallows.] The plants must think so, too.

[Yun is absolutely darling. Prouvaire would be lying if he said she hadn't been the muse for at least a few of his poems.]
I'm sure they do. Their energy is simply infectious.
WOW LOOK AT ALL THESE CUTES
ROLLS IN EMOTIONS

So today she runs. And trips over Yun's strawberry bundle, narrowly avoiding the girl.
And she falls on her face in a truly spectacular moment.
Oops.]
no subject
She's strangely calm as she lifts her head, pushing herself up to lean on her elbows, and frowns at the other girl.]
Are you all right, Chloe? You really need to watch where you're going...

About ten minutes in, he spots a little pile of daughter of Apollo flopped down between the plants and Ben smiles a little. Yun's always so bright and cheery - a good kid to be around. Plucking a strawberry off a nearby plant, he tosses it over to bonk her in the forehead. Hey you. ]

Hello, Ben. Done for the day?

Meetra Surik (Knights of the Old Republic) | Daughter of Athena
Dave Strider (Homestuck) | Son of Janus
He huffs out a breath, turns it around to examine it, then takes a bite. This process has been distracting him for a while now - feel free to interrupt!]
no subject
But soon enough she nearly smacks into Dave, falling to one side to avoid hitting him.]
Oh! Hello there! [She waves excitedly] I didn't realize there was anyone here. It's wonderful, isn't it? I rather love the fields!
[Please pardon the enthusiastic eleven year old, Dave. SHe means no harm.]
no subject
[Choking on a strawberry? Definitely not cool. That's why he's definitely not doing it.
Definitely not. He lifts one hand in a slightly confused half wave.]
I wouldn't have guessed. You're really takin' 'dance like nobody's watching' to a new level.

Naomi Mikano (OC) - Daughter of Demeter
Right now she's not all that successful, her face buried into her knees and her skinny shoulders trembling. She really doesn't want to be here. She doesn't want to be a demigod. She wants to be home with her family.
It doesn't help that if she did this back home - hid someplace to cry - Kou would always find her. He would appear, letting out a long suffering sigh before wiping her tears away and picking her up. But her big brother wasn't here now. Naomi was all by herself and the little girl just can't stop crying.]
no subject
Dave doesn't do well with crying girls. Or.. crying anyone, but especially crying girls. Finding said distressed damsels weeping in strawberry fields isn't generally on his list of things to do, but it seems today the Fates want to have a bit of fun with the sixteen year old Texan.]
Er.
[Fuck, no, don't do that! Turn around and walk the fuck away, idiot, don't let her know you're there.]
.. 'S up.
[Smooth, Strider.]
no subject
Still sniffling she blinks up at the teenager standing in front of her. Eyes unmistakably red.]
H-Hi.
[That might not be the answer he wanted, but she's not sure what else to say.]

johnny mason ( american idiot; son of dionysus )
Finding out that he was the son of a Greek god was one thing. Learning that he was finally getting to leave his stupid, boring hometown (yes!) to go to this camp for other kids like him for an indeterminate amount of time (double yes!) was another.
What he wasn't prepared for were the actual... real responsibilities of being at Camp Half-Blood. Like, there's no sprawling on the couch all day with your best friends playing video games for fourteen hours straight and your eyes burning from staring at the screen for too long. There's no wreaking havoc upon unsuspecting 7-Eleven employees just because one of them left their wallet at home and wanted a slurpee. Here, it's all... sword-fighting and honing your skills and all of this crap and all he wants to do is sleep in for once, really.
The absolute last thing he wants to be doing right now is picking strawberries, like he's supposed to. It's his obligation, as a Dionysus kid -- he's not even going to get into how mad that whole thing makes him - the whole actually having a real dad thing. It's whatever.
But he's trying to be on his best behavior. What other choice does he have?
That doesn't mean he can't let out an agitated groan as he picks yet another strawberry. )

So, here they are, Greek and Roman bros trying to be responsible amid the sheer crisis that has fallen on everyone here. Days like this are nice, though. No questing, no one getting hurt. ]
I wish I had a camera here to capture this precious moment, J.
[ Heather pops up, seemingly out of nowhere. ]
no subject
( It's kind of funny how easily he's slipped into old habits, like immediately reacting to Heather's teasing without even really being aware that she'd showed up. It's just as if they never left that 7-Eleven parking lot.
... But alas, they did, hence the need for Johnny's sass. He tries not to think about home too much. Not that he misses the place itself -- it's mostly just the whole Will and Tunny thing, seeing as they'd been best friends for practically his entire life. It's feels weird being isolated from them; it feels wrong. But he's glad to have Heather around. Obviously all the other kids here get the whole demigod thing, but... he's not exactly the best at articulating his weirdly sometimes conflicting feelings about Jingletown. She gets it. Thank gods.
He'll scowl a bit down at the strawberry plant below him, straightening up and stretching his arms into the air before letting them flop back at his sides. )
This is literally the most pointless thing I've ever done in my entire life.
... And you know I've done a lot of pointless crap over the years.
