Artemis Fowl II | Artemis Fowl | Post-Ragnarok Loki

[Artemis has obviously been around Camp for too long. He is also bored. Now, a bored Loki is bad enough, as the Norse can probably tell you in great detail, but a bored Artemis is just as bad, if not worse. Combine the two, and things...happen.

He has basically decided to indulge his mischievous side and made some clever ways to mess around with the campers, be it somehow tampering with the Apollo instruments so that they can only play the notes for "Mary Had a Little Lamb" or putting glitter on two certain god's ravens. The possibilities are endless.]

Artemis.

[When he turns around he'll see Mary, looking somewhere between exasperated and amused (default expression when dealing with Artemis/Loki). The glitter isn't all through her locks, but she's definitely got some sections of the sides that have had purple and blue glitter rubbed into them, as if a pair of ravens had been sitting on her shoulders and nudging their black be-glittered bodies up against her hair.]

I look like I'm about to attend a rave in Bristol.

Mary.

[It's actually really hard for him to keep a straight face, but he manages. He's a Fowl, after all. Artemis examines her hair critically.]

Is that a bad thing? I think it looks quite...charming on you. Though, I must admit, I'm surprised Hugin and Munin dared.

[All of Odin's animals are kind of ridiculously in love with Mary, which makes her the second most likely of the Norse to be a secret Disney Princess, the first being Rhys himself. She rakes fingers through her hair, tilting her head to look at it before observing the glitter that's now flecking her open palm and fingers.]

I suppose it isn't, but it's going to take forever to wash out. And the pair of them will get it into everything. I suppose this is your attempt at beautification? And while I'm quite certain you're laughing at me, thank-you-quite-a-bit, I'll take the compliment; thank you.

[Luckily for the both of them, Artemis hasn't yet figured out how to prank them into that role. Maybe when he gets some of his magic back, he'll see if Bay can coach him in illusions.]

Not on you, to be quite honest. I will admit that you were not the intended target of that particular prank, and I apologize. Perhaps Hecate's children or the Egyptians can help you with getting all the glitter out of your hair?

What, you're not going to volunteer to help me wash my hair? [Her tone is mock-innocent; no Artemis, she really doesn't expect you to. She considers a lock of her hair again thoughtfully.]

But if I was attending a rave in Bristol, I'd definitely put purple glitter in my hair.

Perhaps you ought to wear some. To show solidarity.

I would leave that to Rhys, personally. [Such a poker face.] The purple suits you better.

Only if it's an illusion of glitter. I'm not going to subject myself to the same fate as the birds and quite possibly Rhys.

Artemis. [Troublemaking boys were nothing new to Nancy. She'd been raise along side them. She had been looked up to as a motherly figure by them. But with Artemis, it was different. She was new as well, but already she knew that he was supposed to be Loki reincarnated.

Which certainly made her role as Sigyn strange and complicated.]

D'you mind telling me what it is you're doing, exactly, hmm?

[Yes, it's certainly an awkward situation for the both of them. Perhaps not as awkward as Rhys and Mary's, but still.]

Certainly, Nancy. I could tell you that I'm doing absolutely nothing. Or maybe giving my intellect something creative to do in my rather abundant spare time. Or I'm doing an experiment for purely scientific reasons.

We'll go with the second option, then. You really can't be that bored.

[God of mischief, Nance. Of course he is.] You could go rock climbing, or take a Pegasus out.

Fine by me.

[Artemis will be secretly amused, it's okay.] Rock climbing? I think I would kill myself, since it involves falling boulders, shaking, and lava. I took one of the pegasi out yesterday for a bit, which was a fascinating experience. It's a little different than horseback.

Is it? I've never been on a horse. [She'd never been given the opportunity.]

Then avoid the rock wall. Take to the beach? It's a beautiful view.

They are subtle differences, honestly, but only because you're adding wings on a horse. It requires a little more balance, and a different position for your legs so that you don't interrupt the pegasus' flight.

[He shrugs.]

Honestly, Nancy, I'm just bored. There isn't anything currently challenging my intellect, so I have to set up my own challenges preferably before I go mad.

[Loki senses tingling.]

[You probably didn't hear him walk up, and there's no telling how long he's been there, but Eiji is standing there behind him with his arms crossed, eyebrows raised and leaning slightly against whatever structure is nearby.]

[Thor senses tingling.

Not that Artemis cares. He doesn't even look up from what he's doing.]

I'm doing something constructive and putting my mind to good use, so I suppose I would say that I'm having fun. How about you?

[Sigh.]

It's a nice day.

[He leans slightly to get a better look at what he's working on.] That looks like an awful lot of glitter.

[Artemis carefully finishes dumping the glitter, sets down the container, and golf claps.]

Very astute of you. I give you an A+ for the day, Mr. Hino.

[He seals it up in a smallish hollow sphere. Then, Artemis starts making the metallic ball even shinier.]

Luckily for you, the target of the glitter happens to be two ravens.

Somehow attacking a bunch of birds with glitterbombs doesn't sound like a great idea. Should I go ahead and alert the Big House in the chance I have to carry you up the hill after they peck out your eyes?

Well, that depends entirely on whether they wish to get the glitter off on a certain reincarnation of a god. I'm also sure at this point that Chiron has a part of the clinic reserved with my name on it.

[Rhys isn't going to indulge Artemis's pranks. And by 'not indulge', he means that he's going to ignore them unless they're actually a danger to anyone at camp.

Which means that right now, while he looks like he's been afflicted with a serious case of sparkle dandruff, all over his head and shoulders, he's practicing with his spear as if all is right with the world.]

[Hey, Artemis is not going to make any repeats of Loki's more dangerous pranks. He has standards and he'd really rather not get punished like what happened in the past.

The question is, how is he still able to maintain a straight face when he sees a sparkly Rhys practicing with his spear?]

Oh, dear. You look like a colorful mess.

I don't know, I'm kind of into it.

[The birds, who are semi-responsible, croak in a way that sounds almost exactly like laughter, puffing themselves up.]

I mean, it enhances my youthful charms. If I knew who did it, I would give them a big hug.

[He shrugs casually. At least he has accomplices in the form of two feathery trolls.]

I couldn't tell you, as I was sworn to secrecy when I stumbled upon the plot. I'm only disappointed that I didn't think of it first.

[Rhys comes over to give him a friendly hug, glittery hug around the shoulders.]

[Ohhhhh no, no no no, Artemis is backing away. He refuses to participate in this glitterfest.]

It was, but I can appreciate the ingenuity to utilize your ravens to get maximum effect.

[Honestly, he could easily escape from this by shapeshifting, but that would ruin the game he has going.]
